So ozone is one of those things that I think is really used a lot in biological dentistry. It’s something that can really just create that much more of a better outcome, especially when it comes to root canals. The root canals kind of get a bad rap.
They have a little bit of some stigma around them, but our goal is to, if we’re trying to save a tooth and give it the best chance, utilizing ozone is really going to give that the best opportunity to last for as long as possible to decontaminate and make sure that tooth is strong leaving that process. So when we are doing a root canal in our practice, what we’re doing is using ozone irrigation, and that includes a liquid and a gas. So the gas ozone, almost like fumigation, so you’re actually injecting it into each of the canals of a tooth, and that’s getting farther than any traditional kind of chemicals they use to clean out canals.
We’re using this to actually get into those areas that can’t be reached by physical instrumentation and by those irrigations. So it’s just that extra thing that’s just actually going to clean those out that much more.
